New for 2023 this Papalin Haitian rum was aged 6 years in seven ex sherry barrels, tropical aging under the sun in the distillery of Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Subsequently, Luca Gargano himself composed the blend of this new Papalin 6 year rum, 2023 edition.

A precious limited edition of Haitian rum aged in ex-sherry barrels created to celebrate 10 years of the label, of the Papalin brand.

Papalin Rum is one of Luca Gargano's first creations, marketed in 2013 only in the best venues specializing in Spirit of the Caribbean, and is now re-presented in a new composition.

The six-year-aged Papalin 2023 is a blended rum from the Haitian Providence distillery, with 100% pot still distillation.

The native molasses was fermented for a long time and subsequently distilled, resulting in a fresh and crunchy rum.

The rums selected by Luca Gragano were refined in ex sherry barrels and subsequently the barrels were selected and tested so as to be able to create the recipe for this rum.

It is a Blended or Vatted of different types of Rum assembled according to the old traditional system, which gave us a limited edition of a few thousand bottles.

Papalin rum is perfect for novices in Heavy rums as it is very pleasant to drink, Papalin is certainly interesting for experts precisely because of its great balance and good personality.

We probably don't have a sample of complexity before us but Papalin remains an excellent rum with a fantastic quality-price ratio.

Papalin is a classic, well-made, quite soft, creamy and mineral rum that is a pleasure to drink.

The spicy component mixed with some mineral notes which give it a good evolution is interesting and very expressive.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Papalin 6 year rum is a brilliant dark amber with bronze reflections.

Perfumes: On the nose it presents a bouquet of great intensity, very intense but clean and balanced. You can perceive the aroma of ancestral Haitian sugar cane.

Taste: In the mouth the attack is warm, chocolatey, creamy. Very intense but always very balanced flavor of cream caramel, toffee and spices.

The finish is pleasant, with a slow evolution and good persistence.

One of the best rums I've ever tried!
