Small edition of Kilkerran single malt whisky distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024 exclusively for the Italian importer Beija Flor.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the distillery, the Italian importer has selected a barrel of Kilkerran single malt aged 15 years in ex-bourbon cask, particularly fragrant and harmonious.
Kilkerran is the small distillery in Campbeltown, “cousin” of Springbank, owned by Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd.
Here we present the limited edition 2024 Kilkerran single malt for Beija Flor 20th anniversary, exclusive release of the distillery's super peated with 56 degrees.
The Kilkerran 15 y.o. Single cask Beija Flor is a peated single malt by Glengyle produced in very few bottles only 202.
For this release of single malt scotch whisky peated aged 15 years, the distillery has reached a peat level of around 80 ppm!
A peat level of around 80ppm is achieved only by Octomore another super peated Scotch whisky!
This single malt scotch whisky has been aged in a single ex-bourbon cask to enhance the aromas and flavour of this rare whisky.
Attention Kilkerran 15 y.o. Single cask Beija Flor is bottled at full strength 59 degrees without being cold filtered and without the addition of colorants, a strength for experts!
A very rare and at the same time very good edition of Kilkerran.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Liquid gold, light amber.
Aroma: The nose welcomes us with peat smoke with notes of sea salt and brine, then come hints of honey and notes of cooked apple, candied citrus and salted butter.
Taste: Slightly spicy and decidedly lively on the palate, the peat smoke is definitely present with notes of dried fruit, acacia honey.
Finish: Kilkerran 15 y.o. Single cask Beija Flor has good persistence.
