William “Ashton” Taylor worked for Dunhill for twenty-five years producing among the most beautiful pipes of the famous English brand Dunhill with the white dot.

The Asthon pipes reflect the famous Dunhill pipes of the eighties in their shapes, elegance, lines and finishes.

But William “Ashton” Taylor's Brindle pipes are famous for the treatment the briar undergoes.

William had to find a solution to remove tannin from 'young' wood.

To this end, the heads of his pipes are now hardened in boiling oil which gives them an excellent yield and avoids the appearance of the bitter taste, typical of fresh briar.

This particular treatment and drying in ovens make Ashton pipes among the lightest tobacco pipes in the world.

A further feature of the Ashton pipes is the mouthpiece material.

A mixture composed of the two materials, which he called asthonite, which he proceeded to patent.

Asthonite mouthpieces are not quite as soft as rubber, which is comfortable to hold between your teeth, but they are still much more pleasant than acrylic mouthpieces which are hard.

On the other hand, they do not change color and retain their shiny black color.

Here we have an Ashton Brindle XX pipe in sandblasted amaranth briar Dublin shape with oval stem and marbled mouthpiece.

A well-proportioned and very light pipe. Pleasant to hold.

Elegant with its dark amaranth color and amaranth and green marbled mouthpiece.

The foot of the Ashton Brindle XX Dublin pipe is flat so as to allow easy support on any surface.

The dark color of this Ashton Brindle XX Dublin shape pipe is natural and the shine is given by carnauba wax.

Each Asthon Brindle pipe is a unique and unrepeatable piece and the photos you see portray this exclusive pipe, once purchased it will be removed from the catalogue.
