  • Scotch organic malt whiskey distilled with a Karuizawa still.

  • Light peat notes well balanced by hints of honey, vanilla and white fruit.

  • Spectacular, among the best single malts in the world.

Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley first edition is a rarity to collect.

This limited edition was distilled in the old Karuizawa still and comes from the malt of 100% Scottish Borley (45% peated and 55% unpeated).

This Japanese-distilled Scottish malt is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, ex-bourbon quarter casks, ex-sherry hogsheads.

Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley was bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.5% ABV, non-chill filtered and no odd colors, limit release of 3,000 bottles.

The Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley is a fantastic new whiskey that looks to follow its popular predecessor, the Prologue K, in true Karuizawa style.

The distillery is one of the fastest rising stars in Japanese whisky.

His initial claim to fame was the purchase of the former Karuizawa stills.

They have since proven that it wasn't just a gimmick.

One of their latest releases is Shizuoka Pot Still K, this Japanese single malt is considered among the best single malt whiskeys in the world.

The distillery is located high in the Japanese mountains in Shizuoka's Tamagawa district, not far from Mount Fuji.

The architecture is modern and Taiko Nakamura, founder of Shizuoka and president of Gaia Flow, has gone to great lengths to make the distillery stand out in multiple ways.

Not only the appearance of the building, but also in terms of Shizuoka's production.

Very few bottles of this whiskey produced with only imported Scottish malt have been released, it is a first edition highly sought after by collectors of single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes:

Color: gold, straw yellow.

Perfumes: on the nose they are mostly floral and fruity with tones of citrus and vanilla.

Taste: The palate experiences rich malts, custard and freshly whipped cream with honey and ripe peaches.

In the finish: soft sweetness mixed with oak wood that lingers for a long time and a wisp of smoke.

We recommend pairing Shizuoka Pot Still K Imported Barley first edition Japanese single malt whiskey with an excellent chocolate.
