Finally available some bottles of Nikka Discovery series grain whiskey bottled in 2023.

This special edition is a tribute to the art of mixing, the result of a meticulous selection of the finest spirits from four Nikka distilleries: the famous Miyagikyo, mostly equipped with column stills; Nishinomiya, closed in 1998; and Moji and Satsuma Tsukasa, originally dedicated to the production of Shochu.

This grain whiskey was developed on the initiative of "La Maison du Whisky".

Nikka The Grain is the result of a meticulous blend, which combines old Coffey Grain (corn and malted barley) and Coffey Malt (100% malted barley) from the Nishinomiya distillery, as well as Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt from Miyagikyo.

These spirits are enriched with Barley Grain (malted and unmalted barley) and Barley Grain and Corn & Rye (malted barley, corn, rye), distilled in iron stills at the Moji and Satsuma Tsukasa distilleries.

Bottled at 48% and aged in new American oak barrels, this grain whiskey offers a smooth texture and complex flavor palette.

Old and new spirits blend harmoniously to create a unique sensory experience.

Nikka Discovery The Grain 2023 Whiskey made from a majority of corn, distilled from "Coffey" stills, this Japanese single grain whiskey offers us an overview of the whiskey at the basis of all Nikka house blends.

Tasting Notes:

Aromas: On the nose, this grain whiskey offers a blend of beeswax, aromatic herbs and fresh fruit, which mix with nuances of vanilla and cereals, revealing the richness of its taste profile.

Taste: On the palate, the creamy sweetness of almond and coconut milk combines with subtle vanilla, providing a dynamic attack, while notes of liquorice, cinnamon and ginger add surprising depth.

Finish: The soft and balanced finish prolongs the tasting experience, revealing the cereals and aromatic herbs initially present on the nose, accompanied by hints of mint, acacia honey and floral hints of broom and mimosa that last on the palate.
