A tobacco pipe produced by Peterson for the new Newgrange line equipped with silver spigot and briar in sandblasted finish.
The Peterson Newgrange Spigot line pairs a number of the most popular shapes with midnight sandblasts and smooth dark oak hoops, along with cumberland-patterned acrylic stems and the finest sterling silver spigot holders.
Made of sandblasted dark briar, it has a Bent Billiard shape called 221 with 925 silver spigot which stands out and makes this pipe unique.
The Peterson 221 shape combines the classic curved Billiard shape with a short, sturdy stem embellished with the large ring marked Peterson Dublin. Overall, this pipe is slightly smaller than the famous 69 model.
The Irishman Charles Peterson began producing briar pipes and in 1890 discovered the famous reservoir system.
This is a reservoir in the stem under the head that has the task of keeping the tobacco dry.
All the moisture – this is the goal – is channeled into the tank.
Peterson's pipes, made personally and exclusively by hand, are the result of long and patient processing at the headquarters south of Dublin, where one of the oldest pipe factories in the world is located: Peterson of Dublin.
Characteristic of Peterson pipes is the classic, harmonious shape, elegance and practicality.
They are carved in the most selected and precious briar.
The sandblasting process of the briar is very particular, deep, English style, it transforms the external texture of the briar pipe into a skin.
Note in this model the elegance generated by the combination of the rustic dark briar and the silver ring which enhances the entire body of the pipe.
The external finish may vary slightly from the image as each Peterson briar pipe is a unique piece.
The variations are intended only in the shades of the briar, the measurements and shape do not vary.
