This 12-year-old Saint James is part of the second edition of the legendary Magnum series, born in 2021 from an idea by Luca Gargano, with the aim of bringing together the great masters of rum with the great photographers of the Magnum agency.
If the first edition of the series was accompanied by the iconic images on the label by Elliott Erwitt, the second pays homage to the American photographer Alex Webb, who has been part of the agency since 1979.
This bottling is therefore accompanied by a photograph of him on the label, taken in Saint Lucia in 1988.
Here we have the Magnum series #2 Saint James 2010 aged 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels.
This aged rhum agricole was distilled in a Creole column and produced from a blend of the 2003 and 2010 vintages.
The entire production process takes place at the distillery with artisanal methods, so as to fall within the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée of Martinique.
Founded in 1765, Saint James is the largest and oldest distillery in Martinique.
Tasting Notes:
Color: golden amber.
Aromas: Rich and full-bodied on the nose, with hints of sugar and honey that evolve into gentian, chocolate and vegetal aromas.
Taste: creamy and delicate on the palate, rich in medicinal notes, spices and infused herbs, with nuances of cocoa and candied ginger.
The finish is soft and persistent, very evocative of sugar cane, with an aftertaste of almond and jam.
