Hazelburn Oloroso Sherry wood 15 years is a particular production of Springbank that takes its name from a closed distillery in Campbeltown.

The Hazelburn distillery is famous for the triple distillation of its smooth, full-bodied and rounded whiskies.

The distillery was active between 1825 and 1925, now it is produced by Springbank.

The Hazelburn single malt whisky 15 years is aged in oak casks that previously contained oloroso sherry.

This latest 15 Year Old batch distilled in 2008 was bottled in 2023 at a full 55.8 degrees, and has been aged exclusively in casks that have previously contained Oloroso sherry.

As always, Springbank does not color or filter, and to the eye it appears quite dark.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Dark, very dense.

Aroma: Complex with notes of red fruit, orange peel that intertwine with notes of hazelnut and caramel.

Taste: Rich and balanced, spicy with notes of orange peel, dark chocolate and hints of cooked pears.

Finish: Long, sweet and spicy with a hint of candied fruit combined with chocolate and dried fruit
