A tobacco pipe produced by Peterson for the new Newgrange line with a silver spigot and briar in a black sandblasted finish.
The Peterson Newgrange Spigot line combines a series of the most popular shapes with midnight sandblasts and smooth dark oak rims, together with acrylic stems with a cumberland pattern and the best spigot supports in sterling silver.
Made of dark sandblasted briar it has a straight Poker shape called 701 with a 925 silver spigot that stands out and makes this pipe unique.
The Peterson 701 shape combines the classic straight Poker shape with a medium length, short shank embellished with the large ferrule marked Peterson Dublin.
The Irishman Charles Peterson began producing briar pipes and in 1890 he discovered the famous reservoir system.
It is a reservoir in the stem under the head that has the task of keeping the tobacco dry.
All the humidity – this is the goal – is conveyed into the reservoir.
Peterson's pipes, personally and exclusively handcrafted, are the result of long and patient work at the headquarters in the south of Dublin, where one of the oldest pipe factories in the world is located: Peterson of Dublin.
Characteristic of Peterson pipes is the classic, harmonious shape, elegance and practicality.
They are carved in the most select and precious briar.
The sandblasting process of the briar is very particular, deep, English style, transforming the external texture of the briar pipe into a skin.
Note in this model the elegance generated by the combination of the rusticated dark briar and the silver ring that enhances the entire body of the pipe.
The exterior finish may vary slightly from the image as each Peterson briar pipe is unique.
The variations are only in the shades of the briar, the measurements and shape do not vary.
