The shape and style of Ser Jacopo tobacco pipes are a freehand interpretation of classic forms, in this case, the Cavalier shape.
Ser Jacopo is often inspired by classic pipes, with their soft, flowing shapes and prominent briar grain patterns.
Ser Jacopo was founded by Giancarlo Guidi and Bruto Sordini in 1984.
After Sordini's departure, it was led solely by Guidi.
Emerging from Mastro de Paja, in the same workshop where the brand was born in Pesaro, he created Ser Jacopo della Gemma.
Once again, a brilliant idea in choosing the name and logo: a painting depicting an ancient nobleman, a prestigious name, Ser Jacopone.
Ser Jacopo is immediately recognizable, and once again, the name imprints itself in the public's memory, just like its distinctive logo.
His strong aesthetic sense, obsessive research, and attention to detail drive him to create increasingly beautiful and functional pipes.
Few, very few, but truly exceptional pipes.
It all begins with selecting the finest raw materials—only high-quality briar!
Ser Jacopo personally selects the briar blocks, which he purchases in Tuscany.
The briar blocks are left to air dry in the attic of the workshop, with periodic checks on their seasoning, verifying color and weight.
No block is used before aging for at least five years.
This is why Ser Jacopo pipes are very lightweight and provide a dry smoking experience.
All Ser Jacopo pipes are hand-carved, and the bowl and stem drilling is done manually with extreme precision.
The pipe stems are handcrafted from high-quality ebonite or methacrylate.
Depending on the briar’s grain pattern, Ser Jacopo creates smooth, expressive pipes with a classically artistic shape.
Here, we have a natural briar Cavalier-shaped pipe, featuring an almost vertical shank and a horizontal bowl.
The shape is unique—a freehand interpretation reminiscent of the classic Cavalier shape but in a stand-up version.
The design is sleek and highly original, following the natural grain of the briar.
The contrast between the veined briar and the long stem is particularly striking.
The finish is done with carnauba wax, enhancing the quality of the lightweight briar.
Each Ser Jacopo pipe is a unique and unrepeatable piece. The photos you see depict this exclusive pipe, which will be removed from the catalog once purchased.
If you need more detailed photos, we will be happy to provide them.
