The Caol Ila Wilson & Morgan 2013 10-Year-Old Bourbon Finish Single Malt Whisky is an intense, peaty, and refined malt distilled by Caol Ila, selected by Wilson & Morgan of Rossi & Rossi.

Caol Ila 10 Years Old Cask Strength is a peated single malt Scotch whisky matured for approximately eight years in ex-bourbon casks before being aged for a further 32 months in first-use ex-bourbon hogsheads.

As classic as only a young Islay single malt can be.

Matured in second-use casks and then refined only slightly more rounded and delicately by 32 months of ageing in first-use ex-bourbon casks.

Caol Ila 10 Years Old Cask Strength from Wilson & Morgan is intense and highly aromatic, yet also very balanced.

This whisky was bottled in 2023 at its natural strength of 59.9% ABV, unchill-filtered and without added colouring.

Wilson & Morgan's Caol Ila 10-Year Aged in Bourbon Finish is a cask-strength single malt whisky for experts, best enjoyed with a few drops of water to enhance its aromas.

The cask was distilled in 2013 and bottled relatively young in 2023.

Few bottles of this smoky and authentic Caol Ila are produced; it's an excellent peated single malt.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Light gold, almost straw-colored.

Aroma: On the nose, Caol Ila Wilson & Morgan 2013, aged 10 years in bourbon finish, greets us with elegant peat smoke, notes of butter biscuits, lemon, caramel, and ginger, with hints of blood orange and brine.

Palate: Full-bodied and slightly dry on the palate, the peat smoke is more present than on the nose, followed by vegetal notes, salted butter, vanilla, and cinnamon, with hints of toasted grains and hints of ash and beach fire.

Finish: The finish is lively, long, and persistent, with notes of black pepper and cinnamon, followed by pickled olives, citrus, and the classic Caol Ila marine and ash notes.
