The single malt Caol Ila 15 Years Old Silver Seal is matured for 15 years and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks, elegant and complex at the same time, a scotch dominated by almonds, grapes and fine spices.

Silver Seal Whisky Company is an independent bottler known for its rare and high quality bottlings, which here meets the most famous distillery on Islay, Caol Ila distillery which is one of the oldest distilleries in the world.

This time it's the turn of Caol Ila, one of the most celebrated distilleries on Islay.

This 2007 ex-Oloroso Sherry cask, bottled at 54.1%, perfectly explains why... An exceptional malt.

It is delicate, its herbal flavour comes from its meticulous production process which reaches its apogee in the 72-hour fermentation period, the longest industrial fermentation process.

It is distilled in stills taller than usual; after being matured in bourbon casks, it is refined for 24 months in sherry casks that give it its sweet and fruity side that melts in the mouth.

The Silver Seal Caol Ila 15 year old Sherry cask whisky is a limited edition of only 255 bottles in the world, a very rare peated whisky, true liquid gold.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: The Caol Ila Silver Seal 15 year old single malt presents itself as dark amber.

Nose: Clean with some notes of freshly cut hay, herbal tones and notes of damp moss and earthy roots, notes of tropical fruit and dried leaves. Some notes of dry cereals and a hint of oriental spices, including a very pleasant hint of cinnamon.

Taste: Pungent and full. Notes of mandarin juice and sugar, hints of lime, buttery barley and malt extract. There are some hints of smoked caramel with custard.

Finish: Long and quite fresh with a bit of spice and vanilla on the finish.
