The soul of the Eminente distillery is César Martí, who in 2009 became Cuba's youngest Maestro Ronero, a title currently awarded to only 10 people on the island.

The symbol of the Eminente brand is an illustration of the island of Cuba depicted as a crocodile, a tribute to its nickname, "Isla del Cocodrilo" (Cocodrilo Island).

The Eminente 10-Year Gran Reserva Ron is produced from a base of 80% premium sugarcane molasses spirit, distilled to 75% alcohol by volume and aged for 10 long years in wooden barrels. After this lengthy process, the aguardiente is combined with 20% "light rum," also aged for 10 long years, and the blend is then refined for three months in small French oak ex-Sauterne barrels before final bottling.

In a spirit of sustainability and due to the ongoing embargo, the bottle is produced in Mexico, the closest glass-producing country to Cuba, to limit carbon dioxide emissions.

Furthermore, the label is made from textile industry waste, while the cap is made from sustainable cork and wood.
