The 10-Year-Old Cask Strength Batch 11 perfectly illustrates Billy Walker's expertise in wood and cask management, the result of his 50 years of experience and his passion for aging.

Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 at a full 59.4% ABV, only a few bottles of this Speyside single malt are produced.

This single malt benefits from 10 years of ageing in a carefully selected range of casks: Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry, Rioja casks, and virgin American oak barrels.

This exceptional combination of cask types gives this whisky its unique aromatic complexity, a continuous evolution of aromas, and an intense color.

The GlenAllachie distillery was founded in the 1930s in the verdant Scottish valley of Speyside. Its ownership has been passed down from father to son, making it, to this day, an independent business much loved by whisky fans.

So much so that the GlenAllachie distillery is being hailed as the future legendary distillery of the 21st century, on par with, and even competing with, Springbank.

The name GlenAllachie derives from the Gaelic "gleann aileachaidh" and can be translated as "valley of rocks."

Despite its young age (founded in 1967) and some periods of mothballing, the distillery boasts a base of 40,000 casks, carefully selected for the production of this single malt.

Under the guidance of Master Distiller Billy Walker, this distillery is synonymous with creative cask maturation and the highest quality.

A special feature of GlenAllachie whiskies is that they do not use pumps to avoid damaging the fermented product and the distillate, and instead use water from a small stream for distillation!

The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Batch 11 Cask Strength is a limited edition from the new distillery.

This rich, dark amber Speyside malt achieves its delicate, spicy flavors from American oak casks, specifically from the cooler, more humid Appalachian region. It pairs them with the fruitiness of sherry, including the finest Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherries.

Billy Walker has outdone himself; he's a true master of cask aging; his 10-year-old whisky is astonishing!

Tasting Notes:

Color: Amber, coppery.

Nose: The nose reveals ripe red berries complemented by hazelnuts and heather honey. Notes of orchard fruit mingle with cinnamon spice and nuances of gingerbread.

Palate: Dark chocolate dominates the palate, supported by honey and caramelized Demerara cane sugar.

Notes of molasses, mocha, and ginger round out this rich, complex profile. The finish reveals pleasantly lingering hints of plum and caramel.
