The GlenAllachie 17 Year Old, aged in Mizunara and Oloroso casks, represents a masterpiece of Scottish distilling, a blend of tradition and innovation.

Released in late 2024, this bottling marked the debut of the Masters of Wood series, which aims to showcase Master Distiller Billy Walker's expertise in wood management.

Maturation took place between Mizunara hogsheads (known for the difficulty of creating casks due to the oak's shape) and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, including puncheons and hogsheads. A total of 4,380 bottles were produced.

Maturation in Mizunara casks, a Japanese oak known for its fragility and distinctive aromas, gives the whisky spicy notes of vanilla, and subtle hints of incense and resin.

This maturation blends harmoniously with the influences of Oloroso, a type of Spanish sherry, which gives the whisky hints of dried fruit, dark chocolate, and a pleasant overall sweetness.

The result is a deep amber-colored whisky with a complex aromatic bouquet that releases hints of dried figs, exotic spices, and a subtle touch of leather.

On the palate, it is distinguished by a velvety texture, balanced between sweetness, spice, and a subtle smoky note.
