Discover Peterson's new 2025 offering, the new Peterson Red Spigot 701 Poker-Tanker shape!
Peterson's Spigot line was created in 1977 after discovering an old 1906 Peterson catalog featuring pipes with spigot settings. The series is among the best in showcasing the Irish brand's signature silver treatment, incorporating sterling silver around both the shank end and the base of the mouthpiece in a spigot configuration.
The construction offers additional strength and durability and showcases even more sterling silver than would be used for a standard military setting.
Presented here in the Red finish, the striking, regal metal is paired with a deep ruby stain for a more colorful interpretation of the ceremonial pipe aesthetic, recalling Dunhill's iconic Bruyere finish.
In the 1945 Peterson catalog, the Irish brand introduced four Specialty shapes: Barrel, Tankard, Calabash, and Belgique.
The line abandons Peterson's conventional shapes for a slim, petite design, a stark contrast to the robust, muscular aesthetic that dominates the Irish company's portfolio.
The Peterson Red Spigot 701 pipe features the classic straight Poker design with a more traditional twist, placing additional visual weight on the ferrule and mouthpiece.
The straight Poker, with its narrow, high bowl diameter, is a classic, elegant, and timeless shape that caters to a variety of tastes and is perfect for beginners.
The Tankard, shown here, originally forwent the usual numbered designation, but in 2021, the slim, streamlined version of the Poker, with its secure seat, became known as the "701" in the Peterson shape chart.
In addition to its distinctive style, Dublin-based Peterson is renowned for its silversmithing.
The journey to becoming a Peterson silversmith requires years of training and personal mentoring from the factory's most experienced craftsmen, and the superlative results are a testament to such a long and demanding process.
Peterson pipes are characterized by their classic, harmonious shape, elegance, and practicality.
They are carved from the finest, most select briar.
Note the elegance created by the combination of the dark, polished briar and the copper ferrule, which enhances the entire body of the pipe, in this model.
Every Peterson of Dublin pipe is a unique and unrepeatable piece, and the photos you see depict this exclusive pipe. Once purchased, it will be removed from the catalog.
If you require more detailed photos, we will be happy to send them to you.
