Peterson Newgrange spigot Sandblasted 606 Fishtail Pot

A tobacco pipe produced by Peterson for the new Newgrange line, featuring a silver spigot and a midnight black sandblasted briar.

The Peterson Newgrange Spigot line combines a series of the most popular shapes with midnight sandblasts and smooth dark oak rims, along with Cumberland-patterned acrylic stems and the finest sterling silver spigot supports.

Crafted from dark sandblasted briar, it features a straight 606 Pot shape with a 925 silver spigot that stands out and makes this pipe unique.

The Peterson 606 shape combines the classic straight Pot shape, with a low bowl and a short, sturdy shank embellished with a large Peterson Dublin ferrule.

Irishman Charles Peterson began producing briar pipes and in 1890 discovered the famous reservoir system, or Standard System.

This is a reservoir in the shank under the bowl that keeps the tobacco dry.

All moisture—this is the goal—is channeled into the reservoir.

Peterson pipes, personally and exclusively handcrafted, are the result of long and painstaking work at their headquarters in south Dublin, home to one of the oldest pipe factories in the world: Peterson of Dublin.

Peterson pipes are characterized by their classic, harmonious shape, elegance, and practicality.

They are carved from the finest, most select briar.

The sandblasting process on the briar is very distinctive, deep, English-style, transforming the exterior texture of the briar pipe into a leather-like finish.

Note the elegance created by the combination of the dark, midnight-black sandblasted briar and the silver ferrule, which enhances the entire body of the pipe.

The exterior finish may vary slightly from the image as each Peterson briar pipe is unique.

The variations are only in the shades of the briar; the dimensions and shape remain unchanged.
