The Talamona Reverse line is an ambitious project: a pipe with an angular, well-balanced straight Rhodesian shape and a reverse calabash cooling chamber, crafted from fossil briar, also known as dead root.
The Reverse Rhodesian in black dead root is the result of careful study of both its low, wide shape, square shank, spacious bowl, and the chamber.
In Talamona pipes, the flair and creative touch of Paolo Croci are always evident.
Classic or modern, they are carved from the finest, most select fossil briar, left natural and polished.
Very light and comfortable to handle, in their natural, all-black finish, they are very elegant, a classic.
The straight, angular Rhodesian shape allows for a wide chimney, suitable for Latakia, English Mixture, or Balkan Mixture tobaccos, with a good shoulder, insulating from the high temperatures that develop during combustion.
The smoke expansion chamber, called a reverse calabash, cools, dries, and softens the smoke.
The term "reverse calabash" indicates a construction variant of the calabash: it retains the purpose of separating and cooling the smoke but reverses/inverts the arrangement of some elements (e.g., the position of the chamber insert, shank, or section of duct with respect to the outer body), resulting in a different air path that can affect draft, performance, and balance.
There is no single standard: the term describes a construction principle rather than a single shape.
The coloring of the black briar root and the short square mouthpiece make the Talamona Reverse Rhodesian pipe very elegant, balanced, and with an innate style.
A beautiful pipe, muscular, well-sized, comfortable, compact, and lightweight for everyday use.
Each Talamona pipe is unique and unrepeatable; the exterior finish may vary slightly from the image, as each briar pipe is unique.
The variations are only in the shades of the briar root; the dimensions and shape do not vary.
