Irishman Charles Peterson began making briar pipes and in 1890 discovered the famous reservoir system.

This is a reservoir in the shank under the bowl that keeps the tobacco dry.

All moisture—this is the goal—is channeled into the reservoir.

Peterson pipes, personally and exclusively handcrafted, are the result of long and painstaking work at the company's headquarters in south Dublin, home to one of the oldest pipe factories in the world: Peterson of Dublin.

Peterson Rosslare pipes are carved from the finest, most precious briar and embellished with a large silver ferrule.

Note the black sandblasted briar design that wraps around the entire body of the pipe, contrasting with the clear mouthpiece.

The Peterson Rosslare pipe is enhanced by a 13 mm silver ferrule, which is also found on the curved, clear acrylic mouthpiece, the famous spigot.
