Foursquare Indomitas 2010 Double Maturation Rum was born from an idea by Richard Seale, master distiller of Foursquare, to age the rum for 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels, while part of the rum is aged in ex-cognac barrels for 9 years.
Foursquare Indomitas is a Single Blended Rum distilled in 2010 in both coffey and pot stills, like all Foursquare Velier selections.
The Foursquare Indomitas 2010 Double Maturation rum underwent a very special aging process, in double barrels and under the warm tropical sun.
One portion was aged for 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels, while the other spent 6 years in ex-bourbon barrels and 9 years in ex-cognac barrels.
After this tropical maturation phase, the two components were combined and bottled at 62%.
This Foursquare rum immediately amazed and won over experts, earning the title of one of the best rums in the world.
This process of aging Foursquare rum in double barrels, in which R. Sale is an expert, originated for the famous "Destino 70th Velier" rum and was subsequently refined and improved by Richard.
Bottled in 2025, this release was produced in collaboration with Luca Gargano, Velier's Italian distributor.
A highly coveted limited release, as only 4,800 bottles were produced.
The Old Barbados Foursquare Indomitas 2010 Double Maturation Rum, selected by Luca Gargano and Richard Seale, is considered among the finest rums in the world.
