A beautiful, comfortable, and lightweight Ashton OldChurch pipe—a straight Billiard shape with a light brown sandblasted finish—representing the quintessential British take on the tobacco pipe.

William “Ashton” Taylor worked for Dunhill for twenty-five years, crafting some of the finest pipes for the famous English “White Spot” brand.

Ashton pipes echo the shapes, elegance, lines, and finishes of the iconic Dunhill pipes from the 1980s.

However, William “Ashton” Taylor’s Old Church pipes are renowned for the hardening treatment the briar undergoes and for their deep sandblasting.

William needed to find a way to eliminate tannins from the young wood used in his pipes.

To achieve this, the pipe bowls are hardened in boiling nut oil; this process ensures excellent heat resistance and prevents the bitter taste often associated with fresh, tannin-rich briar.

This unique treatment, combined with kiln-drying, makes Ashton pipes some of the lightest tobacco pipes in the world.

Another distinctive feature of Ashton pipes is the material used for the mouthpiece.

It is a proprietary blend of two materials—which he named Ashtonite—that he patented himself.

While Ashtonite mouthpieces are not quite as soft as vulcanite (which is comfortable to clench between the teeth), they are far more pleasant than acrylic mouthpieces, which tend to feel hard and cold.

On the plus side, Ashtonite mouthpieces do not discolor and retain their glossy black finish.

Here we have an Ashton Old Church pipe in a straight Billiard shape, featuring light brown sandblasted briar.

A well-proportioned and incredibly lightweight pipe. Pleasant to hold.

Elegant, with its vibrant brandy color and classic black mouthpiece—true Old British style!

The pipe features a flat base, allowing it to rest easily on any surface.

This Ashton Oldchurch straight Billiard pipe boasts a natural color and a sheen achieved through carnauba wax; the sandblasting is deep yet uniform—simply perfect!

You will never tire of admiring and using this collectible Ashton pipe!

Every Ashton Oldchurch pipe is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece; the photos shown depict this specific pipe, which will be removed from the catalog once purchased.
