The Demerara Distillers, owner of the El Dorado brand, founded in 1770, is the only producer of Demerara rum. It possesses the largest stock in the world of old rums and a combination of unique stills.
It includes as many as 11 distilleries (7 in the Berbice region and 4 in the East Coast) that use all kinds of alembics, allowing it to assemble different batches of rums, from different regions and styles.
The Demerara distillers can boast a unique combination of stills, able to tell all the nuances and typicalities belonging to the tradition of Rum itself.
In detail, in the distillery you can meet three double columns coffey still, two modern multiple columns of Indian technology, two still savalle, a wooden double pot still - also called Port Mourant - a wooden single pot, a wooden coffey column alembic, a copper alembic Wedderburn style, a traditional copper still and a small still batch gin: thirteen total stills, thanks to which Rum are distilled from the peculiar and specific characteristics, which together in blend give rise to a stock of about 100 thousand barrels.
Distilled each with a unique and unparalleled style, which since 1992 have been under the brand "El Dorado", with the ambition to exalt in all possible forms the best quality sugar cane in the world.
No other Rum distillery can boast such a wealth, consisting of a wide range of Rum labels, all of high quality, regardless of whether they are young or long-aged.
