List of products by brand Glenfarclas Distillery
Located in the Scottish Highlands, throughout its history, Glenfarclas Distillery has won countless awards internationally: its Malts are among the most popular in Scotland and the rest of the world.
Glenfarclas - in Gaelic, "the valley of green pastures" - extends to the foot of the Ben Rinnes mountain in Speyside. It was here that the Glenfarclas Distillery was built in 1836, which was bought by the Grant family some thirty years later, in 1865.
Today it is the sixth generation of the family, in the person of George Grant, who leads the Distillery.
The last distillery proudly remained independent of the major global beverage groups.
To produce the Whiskey Glenfarclas three main ingredients are needed: pure, cold and crystalline water from the natural springs of Mount Ben Rinnes; barley, entirely produced in Scotland in the Moray area; the yeast.
After the distillation, which is always carried out for small batches, the Whiskey are placed to rest in the best oak casks from Sherry of Spain: Glenfarclas has in fact remained the only Distillery to use mainly Sherry barrels.
The aging in ex sherry barrels is a more unique practice that is rare, as well as expensive, which gives the products a very special taste, rich, soft, fruity and spicy.
The Glenfarclas Distillery enriches its already conspicuous medal collection: this year the "San Francisco World Spirits Competition" gets 6 medals (two double golds, two golds and two silvers), in addition to the mention of "Best Single Malt Scotch Whiskey - No Age "for his 105 Single Cask.
Glenfarclas Distillery also wins 6 quotes in the "Whiskey Bible 2016" by Jim Murray, the acclaimed World Whiskey Guru.
