The Distilleria Espérance by François Longueteau is located in Basseterre, on the island of Guadeloupe. It is a small distillery, but also the oldest and richest in history of the island. Rum Karukea is a true excellence, still linked to the craft traditions of distillation. For production we use only high quality reeds and in particular the famous reeds bleue. For the fermentation we follow the traditional processes of the best agricultural rums. The distillation is carried out using the Creole columns and the Rum ages in French or American oak barrels. The name Karukera derives from the ancient name of the island of Guadeloupe used by the Caribbean populations. Karukera offers fans a wide range of rums, aged in the Caribbean sun and bottled on the production site.
