The Montebello distillery was founded by the Dolomie family in 1930, and is located in the small town of Petit-Bourg, located in the eastern part of the island of Basse-Terre, belonging to the French department of Guadalupe.

Born as a small family run distillery, Montebello, despite having faced the most varied historical vicissitudes and despite having passed from hand to hand, has remained virtually unchanged until the '70s when it began to grow more and more, becoming one of the most active of the Guadalupe; Today, it employs more than 30 people and is able to produce up to 500 thousand liters a year of high quality rum, mainly destined for the French market.
The Montebello distillery buys sugar canes for the production of rum from farms in the Petit-Bourg area and once the juice has been extracted it is left to ferment for around 48 hours.
The distillation then takes place in multiple column alembics and the white distillate comes out at 85% vol., With the aim of obtaining the purest and most refined rhum of the whole Guadalupe.
Once distilled, the rum is left to refine in ex-bourbon casks and then bottled as Rhum Bianco at 50 and 55% vol.
The entire production process is scrupulously followed by the Marsolle family, which currently manages the distillery and boasts of producing one of the most precious rums of the entire Guadalupe; it is no coincidence, moreover, if in France the rhum Montebello has won numerous prizes and awards at competitions reserved for this distillate.
