Launched in 2019, Black Tot Rum is a modern blended rum that uses rum pot & column stills from Guyana, Barbados and Jamaica.

Named in honor of Black Tot Day, the day Royal Navy sailors received their latest government-released rations of rum, Black Tot Rum was made for modern palates, while keeping ancient blending traditions at the center.

Around the early 1800s, the Royal Navy (somewhat unwittingly) became one of the world's pioneers of rum blending, with one of the largest rum reserves in the world (around 4 million gallons were stored in large wooden vats. open at any given time).

The Navy would buy rum mainly from English ports: Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana and later Trinidad.

However, it would also buy rum from other countries if the supplies needed it.

The original Navy rum is a continuous "world blend" of nearly every rum available - there is no fixed recipe.

Sailors could choose to have their daily ration of rum or be paid the equivalent value instead.
