Old Perth brings together the finest sherry-matured malt whiskey from a selection of pedigreed Speyside distilleries and expertly blends them in our hometown of Perth, Scotland.

The Scottish city of Perth has historically been home to many whiskey companies.

It used to be the blending capital of the world, where great blended malts were created, however, over time, Perth became the forgotten whiskey city.

Old Perth was historically a blend of Speyside, Highland and Islay malts together with North British grain, aged up to 12 years.

Blender Peter Thomson had a strong relationship with the Macallan distillery, so malt from Speyside was also included.

In recent years the proportions and age of each component have been decided by David Thomson, son of Peter, and then mixed at the company headquarters in Perth.

All company directors have approved the blend before release, its main market being mainly hotels and bars in Scotland.

Today the brand is owned by independent bottler Morrison & Mackay, with the primary bottling now a blended malt - Old Perth Original (Release No 4) - built around Aultmore matured ex Bourbon.

All components are aged between four and six years to create an accessible, sweet and "more appetizing" shot glass.

Other expressions available include Old Perth Sherry Cask and Old Perth Peaty, all bottled at 43% ABV.
