List of products by brand Jim Beam

The Beam family has spanned seven generations, or more than 200 years, and has faced countless challenges toward a single goal: producing the best bourbon in the world. In 1795, just three years after Kentucky became a state, its bourbon quickly became a local hit.

Jim Beam is a whiskey distillery located in Clermont, Kentucky since 1795. It produces a large number of bourbons of different types, distributed under various brands (Jim Beam, Knob Creek, basil Hayden's or Bakers).

After being owned by Fortune Brands in January 2014 it was sold to Suntory, becoming Beam Suntory.

Whiskeys sold under the Jim Beam brand (with the exception of Rye whiskey) are like Bourbon, and are made of at least 51% corn and aged at least two years in internally charred oak barrels (the minimum aging time required for the straight Bourbon denomination). Jim Beam also adds rye and barley to its grains.

As it makes other bourbons, Jim Beam uses some of the previous fermentation to create a better blend of the new fermentation. This method is called sour mash, similar to that used for making yeast bread.

The Jim Beam distillery also produces small batch bourbons (it is a small blend of whiskeys that come from around 20 barrels): Knob Creek, Booker's (introduced in 1988 and named after its creator Booker Noe, grandson of Jim Beam), Basil Hayden's and Bakers.
