World leader in the production of pipe filters and DIY cigarette filters, has been producing filters and smoking accessories since 1945.

Their filters allow to reduce the humidity of the smoke and the harmful substances of tobacco, without altering the flavors.

From 1945 to 1984 Robert Maderholz produced briar pipes. His son Michael developed the first automatons for the production of filters in 1984.

So far White Elephant is the only filter with highly absorbent meerschaum granules in the world. Meerschaum is a magnesium silicate from the mineral group sepiolites, the porous structure is able to absorb large amounts of moisture like a sponge.

The meerschaum was imported from Tanzania (now only the highest quality meerschaum from Eskisehir, Turkey is used), so the name "White Elephant" was found very quickly.

Later activated carbon filters were added to the portfolio and in 1999 the production of pipe cleaners began.

Having no heirs, Michael Maderholz sold the company to Kopp Filters.

After 35 years, White Elephant presents itself with a new design. But everything else remains the same. The production site is still in Ettenstatt, Bavaria and our main assumptions are the highest quality and fair prices.
