Strambrach pipe
Choose your Strambrach Calabash, the handmade Austrian calabash pipes.
A large pipe made from dried African calabash and lined with meerschaum on the inside to avoid burning the natural material it is made of.
The coolest and driest smoke is the prerogative of this pipe, in fact, by passing through the expansion chamber that is created under the bowl and coming into contact with the natural walls, the benefits reported above are obtained.
These pipes are the brainchild of Robert Strambach, a master turner, whose goal was to create, in addition to the meerschaum block models, laboriously carved and decorated mostly with artistic silver applications, the dried South African calabash pipes.
The company manufactures Calabash pipes with colored heads as well as economical pipes made of pressed meerschaum.
Having not felt the need for his own brand for many years, Robert Strambach produced meerschaum pipes for several other factories, including renowned briar pipe manufacturers who wanted to enrich their product range by introducing the “white goddess” or Calabash pumpkin pipes.
Even briar pipes that follow its conical shape are called Calabash pipes.
This type of pipe often appears in Sherlock Holmes films and is iconic, very famous.
The production of these wonderful and large pumpkin pipes ended with the closure of the Austrian Strambach factory in 1981.
Now Calabash pumpkin pipes are heirlooms, collector's items that only a lucky few can smoke.
All the broken-in pipes come from private collections and are guaranteed by Tabaccheriatoto13.com. They are carefully cleaned and sterilized, ready to smoke or display.
