Kintyre is a peninsula in western Scotland, located in the south-western part of Argyll and Bute.
The Beinn an Tuirc Distillery is based here and proudly produces Kintyre gin.
Kintyre Gin is produced using renewable energy supplied by the Torrisdale Castle Estate's small hydroelectric system.
The water comes from the "Beinn an Tuirc" hills from which the distillery takes its name and which in Gaelic means "the hills of the wild boar" and which constitute the highest point of the Kintyre area, which gives its name to the gin.
The style of Kintyre Gin is classic, the result of the combination of traditional botanicals and other less usual ones.
There are 12 botanicals in Kintyre Gin, ten common and two rare, Icelandic moss and Rumex Acetosella, known as "sheep sorrel".
Kintyre Gin has delicate juniper, citrus and floral notes, with warm spices towards the finish.
Botanicals: juniper, coriander, almonds, licorice, angelica root, cassia bark, orange and lemon peel, orris root, Java pepper, Icelandic moss and wood sorrel.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: A vibrant fresh juniper at the start, with delicate floral and citrus notes.
Palate: Juniper leads towards citrus peel and floral notes that come from Icelandic moss and sorrel.
Finish: Pleasant and dry, with a warm, persistent spicy note.
We recommend tasting Kintyre Gin with classic tonic water and a slice of lemon.
Perfect Gin and Tonic, delicious!
