Kintyre is a peninsula in western Scotland, located in the southwestern part of Argyll and Bute.
Here is the Beinn an Tuirc Distillery which proudly produces Kintyre Gin.
Kintyre Gin is produced using renewable energy provided by the small hydroelectric system of the Torrisdale Castle Estate.
The water comes from the hills "Beinn an Tuirc" from which the distillery takes its name and in Gaelic means "the hills of wild boar" and which make up the highest point of the Kintyre area, which instead gives the name to the gin.
The style of Kintyre Gin is classic, the result of the combination of traditional and other less usual botanicals.
Kintyre Gin's botanical gardens are 12, ten common and two rare, Icelandic moss and Rumex Acetosella, called "sheep sorrel".
Kintyre Gin has delicate notes of juniper, citrus and floral, with warm spices towards the finish.
Botanical: juniper, coriander, almonds, licorice, angelica root, cassia bark, orange and lemon peel, orris root, Java pepper, Icelandic moss and sorrel.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: A vibrant fresh juniper in the beginning, with delicate floral and citrus notes.
Palate: The juniper leads to the citrus peel and floral notes that come from Icelandic moss and sorrel.
Finale: Pleasant and dry, with a warm, persistent spicy note.
We recommend you to taste Kintyre Gin with classic tonic water, a slice of lemon.
Perfect Gin and Tonic, very good! Great in the Negroni!
