Basseterre 1995 rum was distilled in October 1995, this rum produced within the Montebello distillery, in Guadeloupe.
The Montebello distillery is famous for its traditional agricultural rums.
This rum results from the assembly of agricultural rum and traditional rum.
Selected by Luca Gargano for Velier and put in cask in 2006, it was bottled in 2008.
It is an excellent rum, in which the hints released by the long aging in wood are clearly evident.
Rhum Vieux Guadeloupe 1995 - Basseterre is pleasant sipped on its own, but becomes fabulous if added with a few drops of water, so as to enhance further and complex olfactory and gustatory aromas.
Tasting Notes:
Color: amber.
Nose: rich, marked by caramelized sugar, citrus fruits and spices such as cumin and a slight hint of woody Caribbean cedar with which the boxes for cigars are made.
Mouth: complex, completely reveals its balsamic character with hints of clove. Vanilla makes a stealthy appearance, quickly recaptured by licorice and coffee.
Final: Excellent old style agricultural rum !! It is perpetuated on the clove and vanilla.
Basseterre 1995 rum is perfect to accompany “rum and cigar” evenings to be spent in the company of good old friends or meditative evenings.
