Mount Gay is the oldest distillery in Barbados if not the oldest in the world and its rums are famous all over the world.
Here we have the new Mount Gay 1703 rum X.o. reserve cask, an innovative product, bottled at 43 degrees.
The typical rum of Barbados, born from the blending of sugar cane molasses distillates aged for 8-15 years in old American oak barrels.
Mount Gay Rum 1703 X.o. reserve cask, is the assembly of alcohols carefully chosen from the oldest reserves with a maturity of 17 years.
A great success that was rewarded by numerous Great Gold Medals and Trophies from the International Institute of Spirits.
Mount Gay X.o. reserve cask is soft, round and complex, rich in spicy and fruity notes, with slightly smoky nuances.
Amber-golden color, it has an extremely complex yet harmonious aroma: there are shades of flowers, spices, peppermint, fruity touches of apricot, banana and mango, as well as traces of vanilla and a subtle smoked oak character.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Dark amber, with light red reflections.
Nose: smoky and balsamic notes, beautiful presence of undergrowth notes, beeswax and cedar wood.The rum Mount Gay X.o. reserve cask is a complex rum.
Taste: with 43 degrees it is soft and prolonged by a nice aromatic fullness. The toasted notes evoke the nose.
Final: long and powerful. It continues on greedy and pastry notes. We recommend a combination with Cuban cigars such as Romeo and Julietas.
