Brandy is a sumptuous distillate, produced from the distillation of wine.
Brandy is the name generally used to indicate distillates based on grapes or other fruit, subjected to a period of aging in oak barrels.
The whole world produces brandy, even if the best come from France, which is its homeland, Italy and Spain and now China: coincidentally three of the largest and most venerable wine producers in the world.
Some areas of France such as Armagnac and Cognac are so vocated and historical that they gave their brandy their name, so these great spirits are in all respects brandy.
Based on the time spent there, we speak of AC brandy, after two years of aging, VS, VSOP and XO, respectively from three to six years of aging, up to Hors d'Age brandies, for over six years in oak.
Brandy is usually tasted after meals or in moments of meditation, it can give rise to refined cocktails but also to accompany a good cigar or a bar of bitter chocolate.
