St. James 1999 single cask Hors d'Age is a rum of the highest quality, distilled from pure sugar cane and aged 17 years in Martinique.
The double distillation is carried out with a traditional alembic still respecting the most classic production methods for rum.
Distilled on 29 October 1999, it was bottled in 2016, after 17 years of aging in small French oak barrels.
During aging St. James rum loses more than 45% of the product.
In 2016, at the right maturity, it was bottled in only about 250 bottles.
So much is the value and rarity of St. James 1999 single cask Hors d'Age rum that on the label are all the bottling and barrel data, the bottle number and the signatures of Gilbert Bolinois, maitre de Chai, and Marc Sassier winemaker.
Rum St. James 1999 single cask will win you over at the first taste.
Few of the bottles produced make this rum very popular with collectors.
Tasting Notes:
Color: dark but bright black.
Perfumes: The nose opens on balsamic and menthol tones, to then also perceive memories of sweet spices and slightly floral notes.
Taste: The palate is all played on the contrast between freshness and sweetness. The St. James 1999 is spicy, long in persistence and pleasantly dry in the finish.
Warm, soft and round rum, it is suitable for pure fun that is enhanced with a good Davidoff cigar.
