Hayman's Hopped Gin is the first in the Bartender's Release series, and was created in collaboration with Jordan Sweeney, bartender at The Wigman Tavern, London.
Haymann's London dry gin is born from a recipe of ten herbs, to which is added a secret ingredient: the culmination of over 40 years of expertise and distillation of award-winning Gin.
To this excellent gin Hopped Gin adds grapefruit and the English Fuggle variety of hops, to add fresh and mentholated notes.
Hopped Gin Hayman's is bottled at 42% ABV, and is a tribute to its mixability: the higher alcohol content pushes beyond the intensity of botanicals, for a truly exciting service.
Unfortunately, this is not for everyone, this is a limited edition of 1,200 numbered copies.
Jordan Sweeney believes that the perfect gin is the careful and consistent balance of juniper, coriander, orange and lemon, grapefruit peel, to which to add a little minty and refreshing note.
It is also his belief that this Gin Hayman classic is still the finest example of London Dry Gin.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Juniper, hay, earthy, citrus and a fresh menthol note.
Palate: Vibrant and herbaceous, with notes of apple and citrus, grapefruit and a note of hay and cinnamon.
Final: Delicate and fresh, with persistent citrus and a mentholated finish.
Gin Hayman's Hopped Bartender's release 2019 is best expressed in a classic Martini cocktail.
Add 50 ml. of Hopped to 10 ml. of dry vermouth and a splash of orange bitters in a mixer and shake.
Strain into an iced martini glass, squeeze a lemon zest and garnish with a green olive.
Hayman's Hopped Bartender's release 2019 is suitable for all types of cocktails but we advise you to taste it neat and very cold.
