Larceny 92 proof is a little known Kentucky Straight Bourbon, but remarkably good to drink.

Larceny is made by Heaven Hill Distillery, Bardstown, Kentucky, the same distillery that produces Evan Williams and Elijah Craig.

The name Larceny is very particular because in English it is the term for theft, robbery.

This name and the bottle's iconic keys seem to be inspired by John E. Fitzgerald, a United States Treasurer who used his Kentucky warehouse keys to steal the best barrels from distilleries and bottle them under his Old Fitzgerald brand.

Larceny 92 Proof Bourbon is a whiskey created with a blend of corn, wheat and barley malt aged in small batches in new American oak barrels and bottled at 92 proof, 46% vol.

It is an atypical bourbon, and belongs to the category of wheated Bourbons, that is, those whiskeys that use wheat instead of rye in their mashbill.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Dark amber.

Aroma: On the nose we have notes of dark fruit, cherries in alcohol, corn, a touch of oak and spices.

Taste: Full-bodied, sweet with notes of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and brown sugar with hints of cherries.

Final: Medium persistence with notes of vanilla, brown sugar and toasted oak
