Grappa from the Levi Serafino distillery by Romano Levi limited edition of the 79th match distilled in 2012 bottled in 2023.

On the occasion of the lighting of the 79th match that gives life to the still of the Levi distillery, a limited edition of 300 bottles is created to be sold for charity.

   In order to avoid countless forgeries and counterfeits, this series of labels and bottles has been archived in the official archive of the Levi Serafino distillery and numbered by hand by the distillery owners.

Each bottle has the bottle number handwritten on the label and is accompanied by a certificate.

We purchased some bottles and the one you will see in the photos is one of them.

"Grappa Levi distilled by Ignari" with a discontinuous method over direct heat in 2008 in Neive, as written on the label, comes from the selected pomace still dripping with must cured in pits.

Grape varieties used: Nebbiolo da Barbaresco Docg, Dolcetto Doc and Barbera d'Alba Doc.

The pomace is fermented and then immediately distilled in an ancient still, the only one with direct heat.

This grappa comes from the hands of artisan artists.

The grappa is aged in classic Piedmontese acacia wood barrels for three years, subsequently the Levi grappa limited edition of 79 match is stored for three years in small cherry barriques.

Aging has given the distillate the straw color that distinguishes it.

Aged for 11 years in barrels and in the famous underground pits of the distillery, it acquires a dark amber color and a soft and full-bodied flavour.

Aging takes place following a recipe by Serafino Levi: in acacia barriques for 3 years and in small cherry barriques for 4 years at a temperature between 14 and 19 degrees centigrade.

Each bottle of Levi grappa from 79 match is numbered and accompanied by an attached manufacturer's certificate.

The grappas of Lidia and Romano Levi are rare grappas, very good to collect.
