Since 1887 the production of rhum Clément has been carried out according to the most pure traditions and according to the rules inherited by Homère and Charles Clément. Gently guarded, this family recipe has been handed down from generation to generation, coming to our day in the same way as it was two centuries ago.

Maison Clément belonged to Virginie de Franqueville and Georges du Prey de la Ruffinière in 1880, following the great sugar crisis, the farm was repossessed and later acquired in 1887 by the Medico Homère Clément, one of the earliest doctors in the island who was also Mayor of Le François and deputy to the Martinique government.

Having large sugar cane holdings (fields extending over 100 hectares around the house), it was first worked at the Le François factories and then, towards the beginning of the twentieth century, it created a distillery of Its property that produces a rhum, according to old agricultural traditions and for this it becomes very renowned and famous for its high quality.

The visit to the distillery allows to discover the production methods of Rhum Agricole from the processing and harvesting of sugar cane; It also allows to be able to breathe in the cellars the odors of roughly 1,000,000 rhum of rhum in aging oak barrels from Bourbon Kentucky production. The weather conditions of Martinique also considerably accelerate aging.

His son Charles, thanks to engineering studies, will improve the company by introducing innovative and modern methods of export and promotion.

Turn your home into a real location where you can accommodate important characters or take part in events. Today, Maison Clément, one of the oldest properties on the island, has become a historic monument, and the island's only Creole residence is still open to the public.

The Maison welcomes many guests and visitors. Among the most distinguished we remember President Georges Bush and President Francois Mitterand at a Summit in March 1991.

The processing of the rhum vieux agricola is subject to the strict control of the AOC, which involves the verification of sugar cane, distillation, drums, aging method, bottling, etc.

The aging process is three times faster in Martinique, depending on weather conditions: 35 ° average during the year with high humidity.

Every year, evaporation represents 10% of the volume of the barrels. In Clement's Distillery things do not change, they are always the old methodologies to hold a bank in the estate.

Sugar canes are cut by hand to select them at the base where they are richer in sugar. The purity and richness of cane juice are fundamental to the production of a perfectly natural Rhum like Clement's.

Its elaboration is the same proof of its original character; Pure canned juice, after fermentation, is distilled and then placed in small oak barrels of the capacity of only 200lt, in order to obtain an incomparable fineness.

This unique Rhum Single Cask Agricole features wood, spices, dried fruits and almonds.

From the strong and complex taste to the finish with intense nuances of dried fruit.

It is the first mono-variety agricultural rhum in the world, single cask unfiltered. Gold Medal at the International Rhum Conference and Rhum Tasting Competition in Madrid 2012.
