Rare bottle of 2003 vintage Agricole rum from the Savanna distillery, Reunion Island, aged 16 years.

The Savanna Fort Dauphin traditionel 2003 rum is aged 16 years in single barrel number 989 previously used to age premier cru Armagnac.

Rhum Savanna Millesimo 2003 ex Armagnac cask is a limited edition of only 834 bottles dedicated to Fort Dauphin.

With Collection Metissage, Savanna pays homage to the origins that have always enriched the melting pot of Reunion Island, this mixed land.

This old traditional rum, called Fort Dauphin, comes from the 2003 sugar campaign.

Aged on October 15, 2003 in an old Cognac barrel and then a few months in an Armagnac barrel from the Darroze house.

This traditional Rhum Agricolo from Savanna was barreled in 2003 and bottled in 2019 after resting for 16 years in the 989 French oak barrel ex Armagnac.

Distilled in the historic Savalle column, this rum agricole undergoes tropical aging with great Angel share.

Produced in only 834 bottles, these are the last ones available at the distillery.

This is a breath of fresh air in the world of rum, it's a shame that only a few bottles are produced.

Here we have one of the few distilleries to still believe in a certain authenticity, and the annual output expressions of sugar cane from the island of Reunion.

The aging in a single ex-cognac barrel allows to enhance the peculiarities of the long fermentation conducted by Savanna.

Tasting Notes:

Rhum Agricolo Savanna Fort Dauphin 2003, has a beautiful bright, intense red amber color.

A color that inspires respect, classy, elegant and yet so opulent.

Nose: Hints of roasted caramelized sugar, flambé and gourmet exotic fruit. When left to breathe it becomes more elegant, with a certain freshness in the background. The fruitiness is more evident and we can distinguish mango, passion fruit and pineapple, which have the same sour freshness. There is a slight hint of almond.

Taste: soft and fresh flavor with floral, vegetal and eucalyptus notes. A voluptuous rum with hints of pastry at the end of the meal, reminiscent of rum & raisin ice cream and rum baba. A fine, exotic fruitiness complements its rich tones.
