The Secret of Blending: The Art of Harmony

Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve is a NAS (No Age Statement) single malt that perfectly embodies the Japanese concept of harmony.

Its complexity is the result of a skillful blending guided by Master Blender Shingo Torii.

The spirit combines young, smooth, and full-bodied single malts (aged at least 8 years) with more mature malts aged for approximately 12 years.

The secret to its aromatic profile lies in the use of five different types of casks, including:

American white oak casks

Former sherry casks

Precious and rare Mizunara oak casks (the native Japanese oak)

Thanks to this extraordinary maturation process and its rare complexity, this single malt has won numerous international awards, becoming one of the most coveted and sought-after Japanese whiskies among collectors and tasters around the world.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Warm and luminous amber.

Aroma: The initial woody impact on the nose quickly opens up to rich fruity notes of peach, ripe persimmon, and orange marmalade. Sweet and enveloping hints of butter, custard, caramel, coconut, and vanilla then emerge.

Taste: Medium-bodied, it is sweet, rich, and distinctly fruity on the palate. Wild berries such as red and blackcurrants, raspberries, and blueberries are clearly discernible, in perfect balance with the malt structure.

Finish: Pleasantly long and persistent, with a consistent return of fruity notes, noble wood and a sweet trail of vanilla.
