Don papa sherry cask is produced in a few bottles in the world following an aging recipe in different ex sherry barrels which makes it unique.

Three types of barrels used for aging: Fino sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry, cream sherry and Palo Cortado sherry.

Rum Don Papa or The Don, was inspired by the story of one of the celebrated heroes of the Philippine revolution: Dionisio Magbuelas, better known locally as "Papa" Isio.

Initially a foreman on a sugar plantation, Papa Isio - healer, shaman, seer, rebel, and the leader of a group of babaylanes - played a pivotal role during the late 19th-century Philippine Revolution.

The spirit of Pope Isio and his leadership played a vital role in freeing Negros from Spanish rule, ultimately bringing independence for his beloved country.

Rum Don Papa embodies the spirit of independence of Papa Isio, irreverence and a sense of justice.

Distilled from some of the best sugar cane in the world, Don Papa sherry cask is aged in ex-sherry casks at the foot of Mount Kanlaon.

Negros Occidental is and always has been the sugar capital of the Philippines.

Thanks to the perfect combination of climate, geography and the rich volcanic soil of the island, Negros is ideal for the production of sugar cane. And, where there is sugar you will find rum.

Don Papa sherry cask is a premium aged molasses rum of limited production.

Bottled at the full degree of 45 degrees, each bottle bears the figure of the founder of the distillery on the label.

Rum Don Papa is unique in three respects:

It is a rum that comes from a single island (Negros), produced 100% with the island's sugar cane;

It is aged for over 4 years in smoked oak barrels and then 18 months in a mix of ex sherry barrels, which gives it a rare complexity of flavors.

Where there is rum, you will find Don Papa .... but you will hardly find Don papa sherry cask.

Tasting Notes:

Color: dark, dark amber.

Full-bodied, intense, fruity on the nose, Don Papa has a long finish full of flavors, Cocoa, cherries, vanilla, honey and red fruit, dates.

For consumption it is suggested to drink Don Papa sherry cask rum alone and perhaps accompanied by a good Arturo Fuente cigar.
